Rajiv Sinclair is the Editor-in-Chief of the Toronto Globalist, an online student publication focused on understanding world issues through human stories. Rajiv has a passion for the rare kind of journalism that is honestly compelling, intimately human, and impossible to ignore. He grew up in Cairo and has worked in India, Vietnam, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the USA. Now, he is in his fourth year at the University of Toronto studying Economics, Political Science, and Writing & Rhetoric. His learning is inspired by a curiosity about how people collaborate, cooperate, and communicate with each other in life. Rajiv’s photography is focused on revealing the beautifully inescapable humanity of all people everywhere, in spite of differences of circumstance. He believes that intimately quotidian photographs can act as a lens into the lives of others and, thereby, enable understanding between disparate perspectives by capturing the subtleties of life that make us all human. Rajiv believes that our world can become a little better if we can find ways of working together towards living together, but that this is only possible if we make an effort to better understand each other’s ways of living.
